From the doorway, this is interesting enough to notice but quiet enough to keep long term now that the room is finished. The light over the area feels comfortable for everyday use. I am very happy with how the whole area came together.

With daily use, the overall effect is more refined than I expected with the rest of the room. I would make the same choice again. It still catches my eye, but in a good way.

Against the rest of the space, it adds presence without making the room feel busy for our setup.

After maybe 15-20 minutes of taking the old light down and putting this light in there was a really nice change in appearance for the dining area. In the evening the orange glow is relaxing and gives the feeling of a restaurant. The cord length is more than long enough for a 9' ceiling. I know there are other brands that are more expensive and better materials but being on a budget you can get the same look and feel for a fraction of the cost.
