The Ambrevil Alabaster Shade Wall Sconce reworks the classic candle sconce found in old townhouse hallways. A curved C-shaped arm sweeps out from a stepped rectangular backplate and lifts a candle cup with a wide bobeche. On top sits a tapered shade cut from natural alabaster in place of the usual fabric, so when lit, the stone glows warm and shows its soft amber veining.

Natural alabaster, one of a kind

The shade is cut from natural alabaster. Veining, tone and small marks differ from piece to piece, so no two sconces look exactly the same. These variations are part of the stone and are not defects.

Setup & Care

Dust the shade with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the stone.
Let the bulb cool before handling the shade or changing the bulb.

The in the hallway feels much more pulled together now in person. It works with the rest of the room rather than competing with it.

When the space is actually in use, this is interesting enough to notice but quiet enough to keep long term for our setup. The effect is noticeable without being dramatic. The room feels better without looking overly decorated.

Once I stopped overthinking it, this looks better in the room than I expected from the photos compared with what was there before. It has enough presence to matter, but it still feels easy. It feels like it belongs here.
