About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish

The body of this ceiling light is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black — this is exactly as it was designed to be.

Natural travertine — formed by geological processes

Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

It works with the rest of the room instead of competing with it in this space now that the room is finished.

With the area finished, it gave the hallway a more settled, finished look without feeling overdone. I would make the same choice again. It gives the room personality without adding visual clutter. I would buy it again.
