About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish

The shade of this pendant is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black — this is exactly as it was designed to be.

The breakfast nook feels more personal because the pendant stands out without making everything else compete. This was the missing visual step for me because the pendant gives the room structure without dominating it. On darker evenings, the atmosphere feels relaxed without becoming dramatic. I expected the room to need more adjustment, yet the pendant feels much more natural in the room than it did on screen.
