The Duolune Alabaster Up Down Wall Sconce began with the idea of two moons in balance. Two spheres of natural alabaster sit on slim metal cones that point toward each other, joined by a short rod and held off the wall by a single arm. One globe glows above and one below, forming a calm, symmetrical hourglass of light.

Natural alabaster — one of a kind

Both globes are cut from natural alabaster. Veining, tone, and small marks differ from piece to piece, so the two globes on one sconce will not match exactly, and no two sconces look the same.

With the styling pared back, the room can stay simple while the wall light carries enough character on its own.

With fewer decorative pieces around it, the wall light stands out without making everything else compete.

The best sign for me is that the reading corner is nicer to spend time in without feeling newly decorated.

As the stair landing becomes part of the day, the room still works the same way, it just feels more pleasant. The room changes most at night because the room feels more lived-in and relaxed. I was unsure until I saw it in the room; the wall light feels less risky and more like the obvious choice. Standing back from it, the room reads as more complete.
