Up close, the travertine gives the piece some depth without making it feel heavy. During a normal week, the wall light fits naturally into the way the stair landing functions. I wanted one design choice with a little character, and the wall light adds a point of view without taking over the room. I needed a day or two to get used to the look, and I am glad I did not switch to the safer option.

The first thing I noticed was that the entry feels more intentional from more than one angle. I chose this instead of a more generic option, and the wall light feels less risky and more like the obvious choice.
