On quiet nights, the entry feels calmer.

Styling the rest of the living room was easy because the wall light gives the room contrast without feeling trendy. When I notice the room in passing, the wall light has become part of the routine rather than a special feature.

As the reading corner becomes part of the day, the wall light has become part of the routine rather than a special feature. Between workdays and weekends, the room still works the same way, it just feels more pleasant. With the room viewed as one composition, the reading corner feels more intentional from more than one angle. The reason this feels easy to live with is that the room can stay simple while the wall light carries enough character on its own. I went back and forth before ordering, but the wall light is easier to live with than the photos made me think.

The visual balance works because the wall light adds a point of view without taking over the room. It has a little more visual presence than I pictured, though the extra presence ended up being a positive.
