Looking at the room as a whole, the breakfast nook has more definition without losing its simplicity. In softer evening light, the atmosphere feels intentional rather than accidental. To my eye, the breakfast nook feels more intentional from more than one angle. The room still feels like us because the pendant feels intentional without looking overly styled. I keep coming back to the fact that the design is easy to live with instead of demanding attention.

I was unsure until I saw it in the room; the pendant feels less risky and more like the obvious choice. Without changing the furniture, the room looks more resolved without feeling fuller.

The room makes more sense to me because the room feels pulled together without looking staged. My first instinct was to play it safe, but the room feels more settled than I expected from one change. On ordinary weeknights, the pendant gives the room a more settled feel. I expected to like it, but the pendant feels much more natural in the room than it did on screen. When I am not thinking about the design at all, I still notice that the design is easy to live with instead of demanding attention.
