The Frilla is a sculptural ceramic table lamp with a hand-built body of layered, ruffled petals in a white glaze, edged with natural raw clay that warms toward the base. A brass-tone stem lifts a tailored off-white fabric drum shade above it. At 15″ wide and 23.6″ tall, it reads as a piece of art as much as a light — a quiet, organic accent for a console, a nightstand, or a living-room side table.

Setup Notes

Plug-in table lamp — no hardwiring needed; seat the shade and plug it in.
Place it on a level, stable surface; the ceramic base is weighty, so support it from the bottom when moving.
Use an E27 or E26 bulb rated for 110–240V; warm white (2700K) suits the soft look.
Use an LED bulb so the fabric shade and ceramic body stay cool in use.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth; the raw-clay edges are unglazed, so avoid soaking them.

I kept second-guessing the choice, and now the design is more versatile with the rest of the room than I pictured. As part of our normal routine, the design is easy to live with instead of demanding attention.

In the middle of an ordinary day, the living room is nicer to spend time in without feeling newly decorated. The risk for me was choosing too much personality, yet the scale of the idea feels right once it is part of the whole room.

I keep coming back to the fact that the table lamp has become part of the routine rather than a special feature. From a styling point of view, the table lamp gives the room contrast without feeling trendy. When I turn the other lights down, the entry feels especially comfortable.

The room benefits from the fact that the room can stay simple while the table lamp carries enough character on its own. At night, the entry feels calmer. During a normal week, the room feels better without asking for any extra effort. This was the missing visual step for me because the room feels pulled together without looking staged.
