For evening use, I like that the pendant gives the room a more settled feel.

The room makes more sense to me because the breakfast nook has more definition without losing its simplicity. In the early evening, the room feels warmer in mood, not busier. What makes the design successful here is that the pendant adds detail without asking the rest of the room to get louder.

From a few steps back, the empty areas around the furniture make more sense. I like that the pendant feels useful and decorative at the same time.

Very large pendant light. Got 2 of these for a very long island and they are the perfect size. Love the narrow profile, and does not block any views.

And I think putting any pendant lamp together, as probably not a totally beginner, DIY task because you have to involve electrical. I think that the diagram and the instructions could have been improved with this lamp significantly, but the lamp eventually put together beautifully, and we really love how it turned out.

These lights are stunning for a great price! We got 2 in the medium size and they look substantial over our kitchen island. My husband and I installed them ourselves and while the directions aren't totally clear, we figured it out in the end. Very happy with them!
