The room did not need another trend, and I like that the table lamp adds a point of view without taking over the room. In real life, the room feels comfortable rather than staged. I keep noticing that the room feels pulled together without looking staged. My first instinct was to play it safe, but the table lamp is easier to live with than the photos made me think. What I notice after dark is that the room feels warmer in mood, not busier.

As the living room becomes part of the day, the living room is nicer to spend time in without feeling newly decorated.

From the hall, the room has a stronger visual center. On quiet nights, the room feels more lived-in and relaxed. I chose this during the last stretch of a room refresh, and it gave the entry a clear finishing point. Up close, the wood gives the piece some depth without making it feel heavy.
