For this room, the stair landing has more definition without losing its simplicity.

I would not have guessed from the photos that the room feels more settled than I expected from one change.

What changed most is that the living room feels more intentional from more than one angle. The fixture adds enough to matter while still letting the room function normally.

I was careful not to over-style the room, and the wall light adds a point of view without taking over the room. I kept second-guessing the choice, and now the design is more versatile with the rest of the room than I pictured.
