Teresa When i saw the box it arrived in , my 1st thought is how is the lampshade in the box. It was very well packaged, with the lampshade wrapped around the lamp base. I was worried about being able to put the shade together, but because strong velcro is used ,its very easy. The lamp looks like wood with wood grain. I would think it could be easily painted to match your decor if you choose to change the color.

Cherri I bought this lamp for my daughter's new apartment and she loves it. The light covers a large living room area. It is moderately sturdy. Its not heavy, but not too light that it's flimsy. It is a great value for the price and looks nice in a room.
