For the amount of change we wanted, the overall design has been easy to live with.

With the hallway otherwise left alone, the overall design changed the room more than I expected, and that matters more to me than any single detail. It gives the room a nicer evening rhythm without drawing too much attention to itself.

Without making other changes to the entryway, the new addition has been easy to live with, which is what I wanted. I changed almost nothing around it, yet the entryway looks noticeably more resolved. I like the alabaster, but I am even happier with how naturally the piece sits in the space.
