As part of the whole living room, this choice turned out to be exactly enough of an update, and I like that balance.

In the bedside, this choice adds interest without making the room feel busy. It gives the room enough presence without making the lighting feel theatrical. A lot of decor looks good for a week; this has been easy to live with day after day. I notice the marble more in person than I expected, and it gives the design some depth without taking over.

In the finished living room, the new addition makes the whole setup feel more complete, without asking for much else. For our living room, this ended up being the detail that made everything click.
