Ryan When i saw the box it arrived in , my 1st thought is how is the lampshade in the box. It was very well packaged, with the lampshade wrapped around the lamp base. I was worried about being able to put the shade together, but because strong velcro is used ,its very easy. The lamp looks like wood with wood grain. I would think it could be easily painted to match your decor if you choose to change the color.

Brittany The island light is perfect. Its height adjustable with the provided rods. You can make it high but I like the light to be a bit lower to the island. It doesnt come with the led bulbs which needs to be purchased separately.
