I changed almost nothing around it, yet the dining room looks noticeably more resolved. It draws the eye a bit more than I anticipated, but I have come to like that about it. I like the room during the day, but after dark is when this choice really makes sense.

For the space, this choice works with what we already owned surprisingly well, which suits our home. It has been one of the easier design decisions to live with. The light has become one of the things that makes the room feel settled at the end of the day. Once the chandelier was up, the room finally had the focal point it had been missing. The fixture feels like part of the architecture now rather than an afterthought.
