Annette I'm very happy with this lamp. I didn't realize how happy I would be with it until I actually installed it. Installation was quick - I marked my holes, drilled them, and screwed it in. The instructions are helpful, but it's an intuitive process. Now I have light on my couch that I've never had before and I'm so excited about it. The arms are not heavy, but not light enough to move on their own. It maintains position without adjustment
