Formakami pendant light is a modern take on classic Asian paper lanterns. Our aim was to create a light pendant that illuminates people's lives both literally and symbolically. The white color of the shade emphasizes the lightness of rice paper and the open bottom maximizes the amount of light. Black stained oak rings give Formakami’s handmade shade a pleasant rhythm. known for his playful designs, has combined round shapes in different sizes, and the end result is a collection of three unique pendant lights.

Big impact on the design of the party

These lanterns are a great value. I hung them from trees in our backyard for an outdoor party. Its been a month with rain, sun and wind and the lanterns still look great! I kept them up because I like the look so much!

needed to weight down with heavy fabric to take shape

its pretty easy to assemble but the bottom was not even when first set up needed to put some heavy fabric to weigh it down and stretched for a day or two to take proper shape. A bit expensive for a paper lampshade too
