The Sferanne Alabaster Sphere Ceiling Light hangs a solid sphere of natural alabaster just below the ceiling, held by a tapered metal cone. A G9 bulb inside lights the whole globe from within, bringing out its soft white tone and amber veining. Choose Brushed Nickel, Black, or Brass, in Small, Medium, or Large — it matches the Sferanne wall sconce.

Natural alabaster — one of a kind

Each sphere is cut from natural alabaster, so veining, tone, and small marks differ from piece to piece. No two lights look exactly alike — these variations are part of the stone, not defects.

Turn off power at the breaker before installing — a licensed electrician is recommended.
Fix the canopy securely to the junction box; the Large sphere is solid stone and heavier than it looks.
Dust the sphere with a soft, dry cloth; do not use water or cleaning sprays on the stone.
Let the bulb cool before handling the sphere or changing the bulb.

By the end of the first week, this ceiling light already felt settled into the space. I like it more now that it has been part of our routine for a while.

For me, the appeal is that this ceiling light feels designed without making the room feel designed around it; I appreciate that it does not take over. That spherical form was part of what drew me to it, and it feels less exaggerated in person than I expected. It still makes me happy when I walk into the room.

It pairs easily with what we already own instead of making the older pieces look out of place, which works well for the way we use the entryway. In the evening, the entryway feels noticeably more comfortable with this ceiling light on. The product photos caught my attention, but living with it is what convinced me. I would choose it again for the same room.

From where we usually sit, this ceiling light gives the room just enough presence. The space feels less generic with this ceiling light, but it still looks like our home. This ceiling light makes the space feel more relaxed at night without turning it into a completely different room. Once this ceiling light was in place, the room stopped feeling like it still needed one more thing. The proportions feel visually balanced with the rest of the room, which was one of my biggest concerns.
