This was one of the last decisions for the room, and it ended up having more impact than several of the bigger purchases, which works well for the way we use the home office.

When the rest of the room is dim, the home office feels noticeably more settled with this floor lamp on. This ended up being the piece that made the room make sense visually. After the first few days, I stopped thinking about where it came from and just started enjoying having it in our home office.

Once the furniture was back in place, I thought this floor lamp might feel too specific, but it is easier to live with than I expected.

Rather than changing the style of the room, this floor lamp simply made the existing pieces work better together; that matters more to me than a trendier look.
