Tol Floor Lamp — Spinning Top Totem, Gold

A spinning top frozen in time — gold, glowing from within.

Tol — Dutch for spinning top — takes its name from its psychedelic suspended form. Alternating totem-stack patterns in gold resin sit on a blunt-angled base, each section glowing from within when lit. In a completely dark space, only the golden light strip remains visible, making the housing itself appear to be the source of light. Available in three heights, all sharing the same ∅48 cm diameter.

Friends who have seen the room before noticed the difference, even though nothing else had really changed, which gives the room enough change without overdoing it. I did not expect one piece to change the reading corner this much, but the whole area feels more pulled together now.

Compared with what we had before, the bedroom feels more finished and less like a work in progress; I appreciate that it does not take over. It was not an instant yes for me, but after living with it for a bit I appreciate it more.

My wife liked it right away; I needed a little longer, and now I probably appreciate it more than she does, which makes the room feel more like ours. The overall room looks more put together now, even though we barely changed anything else.
