A travertine column globe wall sconce — a vertical capsule of natural yellow travertine on a matte-black iron backplate, with a hand-blown opal-glass globe set to one side. The opal glass diffuses a single G9 bulb into soft, glare-free light. W4.3″ × H10.2″ (11 × 26 cm), 6.7″ projection. About natural travertine

Each column is cut from a unique block of yellow travertine. Vein pattern, color tone, and surface pits vary piece to piece — these are characteristics of the stone, not defects. Pores are sealed but left visible.

About the opal glass

The globe is hand-blown opal glass — minor variations in wall thickness, texture, and shape are characteristic of the process. The opal finish fully diffuses the bulb so no filament or hotspot shows when lit.

Installation Notes

Hardwired wall install — a licensed electrician is recommended. Mounts flush via the iron backplate over a standard US junction box.
The G9 bulb is included and replaceable inside the glass globe; a 2700K warm-white G9 LED gives the warmest opal glow.
Dimmable with a compatible dimmable G9 bulb and a Triac wall dimmer (not included).
Travertine is a porous natural stone — open pores, surface pitting, and color banding are core characteristics of the material, not flaws or damage. No two pieces are identical.
The globe is hand-blown — minor variations in thickness, texture, and shape are characteristic of the process.
Indoor dry/damp locations only (IP20). Keep clear of direct water — travertine is porous and absorbs moisture.

I expected to like it, but I did not expect it to change the powder room this much, which makes the room feel more like ours. I noticed the travertine more once it was in the room, but the overall balance is what I ended up appreciating most.

I needed a day or two to get used to it in the room, but it has grown on me, which is probably why it settled into the room so quickly. This was one of the last decisions for the room, and it ended up having more impact than several of the bigger purchases.

The product photos caught my attention, but living with it is what convinced me, and I like that the change feels subtle. It pairs easily with what we already own instead of making the older pieces look out of place. The evening atmosphere was what I cared about most, and this wall light moved the room in the right direction. I am glad I did not play it safer.
