From across the room, this ceiling light gives the space enough structure to feel complete.

I expected a visual upgrade; I did not expect the whole room to feel calmer, without making the space feel overly styled. My family likes the room more now, and I think this ceiling light is part of why it feels more complete.

The overall room looks more put together now, even though we barely changed anything else, and it still feels natural after the first impression wore off.
