About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish

The cylindrical body of this pendant is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black — this is exactly as it was designed to be.

Natural travertine — formed by geological processes

Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

H 15.7″ (40 cm) and H 23.6″ (60 cm) use a G9 bi-pin base, compatible with LED or Edison-style G9 bulbs. H 39.4″ (100 cm) uses a GU10 base instead. A warm-toned LED (2700–3000K) is recommended for either base to complement the matte black travertine finish.

I like the way the kitchen feels after sunset now; it is softer and easier to settle into. There is a better sense of balance in our kitchen now; nothing else had to change for it to work.

I like that the room still looks like itself at night, just more complete, which is the balance I was hoping for. It sits comfortably between being simple and being distinctive. It pairs easily with what we already own instead of making the older pieces look out of place. I would choose it again for the same room.

It fits our routine well and makes the room feel a little more cared for, which keeps the whole space feeling relaxed. I did not expect one piece to change the kitchen this much, but the whole area feels more settled now. It changed the nighttime feel of the room more than I expected from a single fixture. I almost chose something safer, and I am glad I did not.
