The biggest change is how much more balanced the dining area feels with this pendant in place. The lighting changes the mood of the dining area without making the room feel staged. I notice this pendant most during our normal routine, which is probably why it already feels like part of the room. I like that it adds interest without forcing the rest of the room into the same style. I would make the same choice again.
