About the black travertine shade — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish

The shade of this pendant is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The porous texture is authentic — this is exactly as it was designed to be.

Natural travertine — formed by geological processes

Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

We use the dining area all the time, and this pendant still feels like a good choice rather than something I bought just for looks.

At first glance, I changed one small thing around it after the first week, and the balance feels much better now. I did not have to change the surrounding decor for this to feel at home. The travertine is a nice detail in person without becoming the only reason the piece works. I expected to like it, but I did not expect it to change the home office this much. It feels settled rather than trendy.

There is a better sense of balance in our bedroom now; nothing else had to change for it to work. I like it more now that it has been part of our routine for a while. I went back and forth on this pendant before ordering, but it made much more sense once I saw it in the room. Once this pendant was in place, the room stopped feeling like it still needed one more thing. It feels settled rather than trendy.
