The Hartley Check Table Lamp pairs a turned iron lamp stem with a paneled fabric shade finished in a pom-pom trim, set on a rounded "vase" base. It takes a single E27 bulb — a warm-light LED bulb is included — and is switched on via a push-button on the cord. Looking at the whole space together, the reading corner feels finished but still relaxed. With the styling pared back, the design is noticeable up close and calmer from a distance.

For evening use, I like that the home office has a nicer rhythm. My partner was unsure at first, but now agrees the home office feels better with it. In a room that already had enough going on, the design has personality without dictating the rest of the room.

What I see now is that the table lamp adds presence without making the room feel heavy.
