Microcement shade — natural texture variation & production marks

Microcement has inherent characteristics of a slightly rough, tactile surface and an aged, artisanal quality. During production, the shade is demoulded by hand, and when it air-dries naturally, small surface pores form and slight demoulding traces may appear at the edges. These are intentional characteristics of the material and add to the texture and authenticity of the product — they are not defects.

Looking at the entryway as a whole, the wall light brings the room together without doing too much, especially in the evening. I have not felt the urge to keep adjusting the rest of the room around it. It gives the room a nicer evening rhythm without drawing too much attention to itself. I did not realize how much the evening mood was missing until this was in place.

With the entryway otherwise left alone, the new addition has been easy to live with, which suits our home. It has been one of the easier design decisions to live with. I have not felt the urge to keep adjusting the rest of the room around it. I like that it feels considered without looking overly styled. The lighting feels more deliberate now, but still comfortable for everyday use.
