I do like the wood detail up close, but what matters more is how naturally the whole pendant works in the room, and I like that the change feels subtle. I almost chose something safer, and I am glad I did not. The room still feels relaxed and usable, which mattered to me more than having a dramatic statement piece. It has been easy to live with, which is exactly what I wanted.
